Will de Vos

As a professional musician based in New York City for over two decades, my career has been a deeply rewarding journey across a wide spectrum of musical genres—from classical orchestras and chamber music to Broadway pits and commercial recording studios. Originally from Australia, I have dedicated my life to the horn, and I approach every performance with a commitment to versatility, artistry, and excellence.

Currently, I am engaged with the New York City Ballet Orchestra, contributing to the ensemble's world-class performances. Over the years, I have also had the privilege of collaborating with many of the region's most esteemed organizations, including the Metropolitan Opera, the New York Pops Orchestra, the American Symphony Orchestra, the New Jersey Symphony, the Vermont Symphony, and the Harrisburg Symphony. My work has taken me to prominent stages across the Northeast and beyond. A particularly proud milestone in my career was performing on the stage of Carnegie Hall with the Vienna Philharmonic during their 2023 US tour.

In addition to my orchestral work, musical theater has been a cornerstone of my life in New York. I am currently playing in the orchestra for the Lincoln Center Theater production of Ragtime. Before this, I spent over 20 years performing in the Broadway orchestra for The Phantom of the Opera until its historic run concluded in 2023. My other past Broadway credits include acclaimed productions of Follies, On the Town, Ragtime, and Into the Woods, experiences that have truly shaped my adaptability as a live performer.

When I am not on stage, I work frequently as a studio musician for film, television, and commercial recording projects. It has been incredibly exciting to see my playing featured on major blockbuster scores, with some of my recent film credits including Barbie, Maestro, The Greatest Showman, Joker, White Noise, Madame Web, Gemini Man, and Collateral Beauty.

My musical foundation began in Brisbane, Australia, where I earned my Bachelor of Music in French Horn Performance from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. Seeking to expand my horizons, I moved to New York, where I completed my Master of Music at the SUNY Purchase College Conservatory of Music.
